Financial Troubles for Gander Airport

Gander MHA and Minister of Business Kevin O'Brien says the provincial government is working behind the scenes to find a solution to Gander International Airport's financial problems. There is word the airport could shut down this fall due to a lack of federal funding. The Gander facility gets a grant in lieu of landing fees for servicing military aircraft but indications are that it's inadequate to meet the need. O'Brien told VOCM Open Line with Randy Simms there will be a meeting with federal officials next wednesday. O'Brien says he and other provincial cabinet ministers are working to find a solution.
