Fiscal Imbalance article only slightly off balance

Interesting article on the Fiscal imbalance talks and D-equalization. Only slightly Ontario slanted.

I'm still at a loss as to why what originally started out as a fiscal imbalance between the Provinces and the Federallies, has turned into another strategy to keep the have nots down, hence all the talk about not removing Non-Renewable resource revenues from the D-equalization formula.

That has left Ontario fighting a defensive war.

The province has a good case. Under the current program, the have-not provinces have already been equalized up to Ontario's level; further enrichment would push resource-rich provinces such as Newfoundland and Saskatchewan beyond Ontario's fiscal capacity.

If NL is such a burden on the country why is everyone so concerned about removing OUR Non-Renewable resource revenues from being clawed back through the D-Equalization formula?

Do we care that Ontario gets the majority of federal funding in jobs, infrastructure, and procurements?
Do we demand that Ontario have to pay us transit fees for by-passing through our waters and air?
Do we complain that Ottawa uses our Continental Shelf fishery as a bartering chip on the world stage to promote Ontarios industry?
Do we complain that Ontario and Quebec combined have a 60% say in the goings on of the country?
Do we complain that Ontarios industrial sector is killing the very ocean we depend on with their pollutants?
Do we care that Ontario has a higher standard of living?
Do we care that Ontario and by association Ottawa's political clout doesn't want the Anglo Saxon route (National Power corridor) to be used for transporting power from the Upper and now the Lower churchill because that would mean they would be left out of the loop.
60% of the MP's in Ottawa would be drove nuts by the lobbyists and interested parties if god forbid NL and the Atlantic provinces should be allowed to develop an industrial sector because of a source of cheap clean energy.

I know I don't care anymore because it is useless to even try and care because it's never gonna change as long as were in this Imperialistic/Democracy of Ontario and Quebec.
