Don't Vote, For change federally

Reasons not to Vote, for Change federally.

We only have 2% say in this Colonial/Federation.
7 seats out of 286 while ontario has 106, and Quebec has 75 totalling 181 out of 286.

Marginalization

MouseLand

Our morals and ethics aren't being represented in Canada by way of representation in the Supreme court of Ontario and Quebec/Canada, who have 3 seats each out of a total of 9.
In our 57 years in Confederation NL has never had a Supreme court judge appointed to the Supreme court of Ontario and Quebec/Canada.
Appoint one judge to the supreme court of Canada from each of the Provinces and territories totalling 13 at present. They could and should be chosen from the existing judges in the supreme courts of the provinces or territories with a stipulation that they be bilingual to appease best represent both official languages and cultures. Maybe even a Native judge or representative to represent aboriginals.

We don't have an equal say in any of the goings on in Canada. This could be rectified by implementing a Triple E senate EQUAL, Elected and effective.

These changes towards equality for all of the provinces is especially poignant for Newfoundland/Labrador because so much of our industry and resources are controlled by Ottawa. IE: Fishery/Foreign fishery, OffShore Oil and Gas, Non-Renewable resource revenues being clawed back through the Equalization formula, marine Atlantic.

Masters of our own destiny. Maybe we wouldn't have to whine to Ottawa so much if we controlled our own destinies in the fishery, Offshore Oil and Gas, marine Atlantic, Non-Renewable resource revenues.

Intangible culture

United Nations Ban on Bottom Dragging/Trawling.

United Nations Law of the Sea Article 76 which would clearly states the Continental shelf Rise and Slope belongs to the country adjacent up to 350 nautical miles from the nearest point of land.

The complete and utter abandonement of our province by our federally elected officials. IE Efford, and now Hearn due to the Systemic failure of our political system to represent the elected regions because of party policies of TOEING THE PARTY LINE. We would be better represented if we elected independants but even that would fail because of the marginalization and lack of equality in our political system.

System sytsemically flawed in favor of Ontario. Can't blame our politicians, government, or the people of Canada with the exception of Ontario because they are only working with the system that they have. The political system needs to change.

You will send a louder message by not voting than you ever could by playing the toe the party line game.

Toe the Party line favors Ontario.

If you feel you need to vote for whatever reason at least vote for an independant or a separation party but the object here isn't to destroy the country but to make it a better country by making our elecyted representatives aware of the sytemically flawed political system in which we keep running around in circles to the detriment of the country.

By voting for any of the federal parties you are just showing your acceptance of the political system the way it exists. When what we need to do is show our elected officials that we aren't happy with the status quo of toeing the party line and the lack of equality amongst the provinces and representation of our morals and ethics.

It is easier to get people to not vote than it is to get them to vote for separation or the platforms of the individual parties which as we've seen from the past are a farce and will never amount to anything for the colonies until the system is changed to be more fair and equal.

The Meech Lake and Charlottetown accords were flawed and didn't treat all provinces equally.

If there is no equality what is the sense of being apart of a larger country you are just being used and abused as a colony of the larger more powerfull province Constitutional/Imperialism.

Better to opt out of Federal elections and take unilateral action if change to fix the democratic deficit isn't acted upon.

Ontarioans, Naysayers and Status Quo Supporters will argue.

Ancestors fought and died for your right to vote.
No they fought and died for equality, not oppression and colonialism.

You don't have a right to comment on federal politics if you don't vote.
Not true not voting can be as much a voice as voting if what is being proposed isn't to your liking. I can understand Ontarioans wanting to vote but the rest of Canada would be foolish to vote in federal election unless the platform being proposed has the proposals which I have stated earlier.

1) The total number of seats is larger than 286.

2) How does our share of seats compare to the share of the national population? What about Ontario's?
