The Plan for Newfoundland From Rant and Roar

I reposted in it's entirety but without the supporting links so I recommend reading and commenting at the original location Rant and Roar.
The Plan for Newfoundland - A Systematic Dismantling of a Province
The plan is simple. Our elected government have adjourned for the summer, in the height of a major economic and social crisis in this province. What message do you think that sends on how our politicians see resettlement and the fisheries. They are finally succeeding in getting fishermen to leave the fishery occupation without paying them one cent or retraining them! It's a secret plan that both provincial and federal government are in cahoots on! With this new Coup there is no investment required, no new monies, no effort, and no programs from government, just sit back and wait for people to Volunterly leave on their own accord!
With all the revenue from oil and hydro, residents here are still struggling to pay power bills, while others reap the benefits from our resources. Danny Williams made national headlines with the Accord yet he has done little about the Fishery and the out-migration! Mr Jerry Reid is touring the province trying to help people - wheres the PC party now? And Douglas House, Deputy Minister responsible for a Provincial Development Plan was more worried about B.C. than NL in his seminar (Oil, Fish and Social Change in Newfoundland and Labrador: Lessons for British Columbia) at Simon Fraser University.
"The arse is gone right out of er" - that's the sign of the times of the economy and life of rural Newfoundland these days. From all parts of the province besides Sin John's, people and communities are witnessing a Genocide of traditions, culture, resources, economy, and way of life. So what's the plan?
The Real Plan Canada and the Newfoundland Government has for this province is:
1. The Fisheries and Ocean Resources:
1. Open all quotas for sealing and fishing at once so that fisherpeople will be unable to participate in each one timely, to get their quotas and qualify for employment insurance.
2. Government set prices for resources like Crab and Shrimp set so low that any person catching it will actually loose money by going to sea, thus no income for them either. There are more regulations against fisherpeople than there are to protect them.
3. Ship our natural resources outside the province, mainly China for processing.
4. Not allow Native rights to our ocean and other natural resources, preventing Newfoundlanders to catch fish, thus they have to buy fish shipped from China. Federal fisheries allow Nova Scotians to catch 5-10 Cod per day from February each year and federally allow them to sell it on the open market.
5. Our government knows every ship that passes in our ocean waters, yet they tell the public they have no way to trace them after oil spills - all Lies! If that was the case, those Suicide bombers would be driving ships up on our beaches. They want us to believe they have no control. If that is the case, shouldn't we know when Russian Submarines or American Navy vessels are in our waters?
6. Decrease fisherpeople populations significantly, to promote a reduction in rural communities dependent on the natural resources, thus less population, giving government a better chance to offer assistance or have people move to St. John's.
7. Allow private companies like FPI to own our resource quotas, with no assistance from Government to allow our rights to the waters.
8. Governments both provincial and federally, want Newfoundland rural fishing communities to dry up and disappear just like the days of resettlement. Their plans are adjacent with company's like FPI - DISMANTLE rural Newfoundland.
9. Get rid of the Fisheries in Newfoundland and have another province like Nova Scotia manage and own it.
10. Disrespect demonstrated by all forms of Government and this Country. So many men lost at sea in the most dangerous occupation in the world, in the worse natural conditions, to make a living, to support their communities and the Canadian Economy. It's suprising that they have a search and rescue centre here in this province and not Nova Scotia! We did have to fight to get back our weather forecasting. Remember the lost of Ryans Commander and Melina and Keith II (watch Country Canada May 9th, June 6th and June 13th) crew due to the Coast Guard response! It took CBC to give it national attention. Our governments are spending more on Quebec to keep them a province and millions on other studies (Air India crash) that come before investigations protecting residents of this province.
2. Churchill Falls
1. Leave the Churchill Falls contract as is despite the discrimination and injustice towards Newfoundlanders and Labradorians so that the province will be dependant on Upper Canada and will never be granted the opportunity to profit from or manage their own resources.
2. Ensure Quebec's rights are preserved at all costs to keep the peace on separation talks.
3. Never give NL the rights to any natural resources in the province as it will overpower Upper Canada economies, mainly Ontario.
3. Place resettlement back on the tables by not providing sustainable economic development, social programs, and preservation of outport heritage. If you wish to resettle, the Government will pay you $100,000 (the option is still a part of our governments policy).
4. Make Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans fight tooth and nail for just about everything, Ontario makes all the rules.
5. Hold Newfoundlanders on a string, the more they wiggle, the better chances they will fall off and not be a burden on the Government of Canada.
6. Out Migration is good for the economy in Canada because more people are paying more taxes by working in Alberta.
7. Last but not least, anyone who is thinking of moving to Alberta have a new choice - to STAY and go on welfare as assistance is at its best right now, why work or leave your home - the place you have lived for 30 -70 years?
8. Provide more rights and protection to other cultures and immigrants than to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. For example, Sikh school children are allowed by law to wear their swords to school; a Philippino pupil in Montreal got national attention because the teacher told him to eat properly; Sikh's are allowed to wear their turbins as RCMP officers (against all traditional RCMP rules), yet as a Canadian:
1. We cannot get a job in our native Country as an RCMP officer unless we are a minority!
2. A native Indian has to live on Reserves. Why are Aborginal officers not allowed to carry their traditional Tomahawks?
3. We cannot fish our own waters, conduct our own development without federal involvement.
4. Speaking our own language and dialect we get Country ridicule and slander, even from National Media sources.
5. We get no protection from Ottawa when international animal groups disrupt our livelihoods, economy, and heritage.
From the Churchill Falls project to the Atlantic Accord and Hebron, we have never received proper support from Her Majesty's Government in Upper Canada. The systematic approach to dismantle every self-sustaining resource in this province is very evident. Mismanagement of the fisheries and continued neglect to resolve the issues surrounding the root of the problem - foreign overfishing and government disregard. More money is being spent on the Air India disaster than on the genocide of rural Newfoundland. Let us not forget how Canada regarded people in this province from the getgo. Canada done nothing to protect the Beothuk Indian race of humans. The last beothuk that ever lived on this planet died from illness as a house maid and her head was cut off and her skull was sent to England as a Trophy while her body was buried here. Where's the respect eh?
The loss of the Beothuks is an extreme example of who cares about this place and who lives here. It's a rock in the ocean and no one really cares about it. Not like we had no part of what is now Canada....remember Cabot when he came over to the New World (New Found Land). Well times have changed and Canada don't give a rats ass about any of us. In some ways our province is siding with them by neglecting to be more aggressive with matters affecting us. You don't hear on the news that the vessel that dumped it's oil got a $5 million fine or the foreign overfishing vessel getting their vessel sunk by our navy and the fishermen being sent to our jails. That would be bad for government publicity in other Countries. I would bet the USA would not allow foreign overfishing if fishing was their #1 resource! Our governments even allowed Japanese buyers to ask and get as much female capelin as the ocean provided - COD's #1 food source. Fishplants and fishing boats use to be filled with female Capelin. So many boats had to dump their fish when they got to the fishplants because the Japanese buyers decided they didn't want it or it wasn't of good quality. These days finding a capelin is like finding a Great Auk bird! Canada supported the destruction and mismanagement of almost every fishery resource, systematically.
About Genocide - a definition
Generally speaking, genocide does not necessarily mean the immediate destruction of a nation, except when accomplished by mass killings of all members of a nation. It is intended rather to signify a coordinated plan of different actions aiming at the destruction of essential foundations of the life of national groups, with the aim of annihilating the groups themselves. The objectives of such a plan would be the disintegration of the political and social institutions, of culture, language, national feelings, religion, and the economic existence of national groups, and the destruction of the personal security, liberty, health, dignity, and even the lives of the individuals belonging to such groups.
Lemkin's original genocide definition included not only physical genocide, but also acts aimed at destroying the culture and livelihood of the group.
