Prime Minister Harpers Promises Made to Newfoundland and Labradorians

http://www.releases.gov.nl.ca/releases/2006/exec/01harper.pdf

I believe the Landing fees for Gander were also promised during the election to call the Liberals bid of moving the Ice Forcasting to Gander.

As well as a commitment to cost share a 50/50 proposal by Premier Williams to Pave the stretch of the TLH between Lab west and HVGB.

Where do you get (a) the 50/50 figure, or (b) the notion that the promise was about (c) paving (d) the segment between Labrador West and HVGB?

Did you read the letter, or did you just take Danny at his word, hook, line, and sinker?

Wally follow the link and read the CBC story.

CBC got it wrong, too.

READ HARPER'S LETTER.

READ HARPER'S OWN WORDS.

Don't read what Danny said Harper said.

Read what Harper said.

I ask again:

I seem to recall having this conversation with you before Canadian Wolf.
The 50/50 proposal wasn't on that letter it was in another letter. Is your memory so short that I need to dig this letter PR up again for you? Or isn't the CBC article good enough for you?

Yes, please do dig that letter up for me. Thank you.

Or isn't the CBC article good enough for you?

Nope. It isn't. The CBC story was without foundation. There is nothing in the Harper letter about paving, about Labrador West to HVGB, or about 50/50.

Please, provide a link to, or the text of, that other letter.

Didn't think so.

In case you didn't notice the comment in the CBC article was in quotation marks. So your saying the CBC and PREMIER DANNY WILLIAMS are liers?

Here is another PR about this subject of Federal support on cost sharing the surfacing of the TLH 50/50.

http://www.releases.gov.nl.ca/releases/2005/tw/1212n04.htm

50 million is a far cry from the 400 million promised to the West for the Pacific gateway but hey we are always complaining so I guess we only deserve nothing because we are a drain on the Canadian economy right.

Well if that is the case why doesn't Canada kick us out they would be doing us and supposedly Canada a favor right.

Wait a minute they are already doing that by slowly bleeding us dry through outmigration and no support.

CBC did a sloppy story.

Danny Williams is the liar. He says Harper committed to 50-50 funding. Harper did no such thing. Read Harper's actual letter. Read it, very carefully.

Did you actually read that press release?

We have written the federal government requesting a commitment for a 50/50 cost-sharing agreement to have this work completed over five years.

I can write to you, asking for a $50 loan till payday. That doesn't mean I have it, now does it?

This press release doesn't show that Harper committed to 50-50 funding. Again, I ask you: where an when did Harper commit to 50-50 funding?

50 million is a far cry from the 400 million promised to the West for the Pacific gateway

$400-million is less than the amount that federal governments (and Liberal ones at that, for the most part) have put into the Trans-Labrador Highway.

$50-million is about as much as the province has EVER spent on highways in Labrador since Confederation.

Wait a minute they are already doing that by slowly bleeding us dry through outmigration and no support.

How is Alberta so prosperous, then? Adjusted for population, they have far fewer federal civil servants than NL.

Still can't find that letter I guess...
