Seniors Daycare!
Seniors Daycare
Not sure if they have this in NL? But when I saw the signs out in BC somewhere around Abbotsford I think. I inquired and it sounded like a great idea.
Essentially it is what the name implies a daycare for seniors. Now I’m guessing we all spent some time in a child daycare well it’s the same for a senior’s day with the exception that the games are different(
They have shuffle board, lawn bowling, bingo etc all directed towards seniors getting together and interacting, playing if you will.
The great thing about this in my mind is that it not only gives our honoured seniors somewhere to get together but it also allows them to stay at home or live with a loved one. They were dropped of in the morning on the way to work and picked up after work. There was even a bus that would pick them up if that was the best option.
The centre had a full time nurse on staff and regular visits from nutritionalists and the like.
