Marine Atlantic outside the box

Just a few thoughts.

Move terminals to Stephenville, St John's, and Halifax on the mainland where there is an airport!

Bus tours starting from Port aux Basques, Corner Brook, St John's, or Argentia! Really should start from where there is an airport. IE Stephenville or St John's. Europeans are big bus tour lovers. Mind you their buses are NICE. Flip up seats to make bunk beds. Couches with love niches.

Complete south coast road. Bare minimun upgrade road from Stephenville to Bucans and Bucans to Howley. Promote round trip tourism plus celebrate our coastal heritage. Look at the Cabot Trail in Cape breton why is that there? All of NS roads are along the coast!

Give Port aux Basque a Casino as compensation. You know they are going to complain.

What if it were free to come to NL and only cost to leave? Going to Labrador from island would be free once TLH finished.

The same as it is for PEI now, free to come costs 35$ to leave either by ferry or fixed link.

The immediate results would be to get more people to come to NL, Island portion anyway.

Less out migration maybe.

Bring more money to NL even if they decide to fly back.

There is the issue with Argentina costing more?

St Barbe costing less I'm guessing never went that route.

Even still this would promote more round trip tourism from Lanse aux Meadows, northern peninsula.

Add airport tax fixed link tax?

Cheaper rates for native NL'eans. Show MCP card or NL passport :)
Free it is the TCH. You can’t even get reimbursed for the cost of the ferry when returning home from the military? Toll the rest of the TCH!

Use tractor trailer car carriers to increase capacity. Even private company could be contracted. Give discount rate to use car carrier tractor trailer.

Pay by foot print. Now 55 foot motor homes pay by axel 2 axels same as my Pontiac firefly 10 feet? If you can afford a 55 foot travel trailer you can afford higher ferry fees.

Use B train set up for drop trailers for that matter look at Australia mega trains 10 trailers one tractor joined with pup trailer connectors. For the drop trailer issue. You will still have roll on roll of speed, plus increased capacity with less tractors just trailers.

Partnership with airlines and rental car agencies packages.

Tram trolley across striate? Its only 9 km. I've been on trams trolley's in Europe that went up to the top of mtns for no other reason than a tourist attraction.

Special Ski ferry trips to Marble Mountain Halifax to Corner Brook. Bus on Bus off. Similar to hotel to airport shuttle buses.

Round trip tourism, ferry from Halifax to St John's return. Tourists drive across and leave from either St Barbe to Labrador or Stephenville to North Sydney.

Casino ferry.

LOL just finished reading report. Most of my thoughts are already in there. I had just read the first few pages when I started this blog.

I still think the St Barbe, Blanc Sablanc crossing is the future? Ice is the issue there I believe, That and the fact that there is no TCH Trans Central (can) Highway in Labrador or North Shore Quebec.
