Toxic chemicals on the Grand banks
If our air space is so critical and strategic to the American space program why don't they move their launch pad to NL?
Security would be less of an issue assuming they set up on the island. They already have bases here Argentia, and Stephenville. I'm sure the toxic garbage would be less of an issue with the trajectory being over less trafficed ocean space. We have a suitable runway for landing the shuttle at Stephenville.
I realize that just saying or proposing something is just that a proposal. But if they wish to continue using our surrounding oceans as dumping grounds they should seriously consider this proposal. Every bit of protection we can afford the few remaining fish and more importantly fish breeding and food sources will go along way in the recovery of the cod stocks and our way of life.
"If the foreign draggers destroy the ocean bottom does anyone care?"
Green Peace does. They are at present booby traping the bottom of the nose and tail of the grand banks. With hedge hogs and knifes to destroy the foreign trawlers weapons of mass destruction.
"If a tree falls in the forest does anyone hear it?"
