NL becomes bilingual
Why not, were supposed to be a bilingual country? Besides we already have a French francophone community out around Stephenville. Portauport french roots A French native heritage in the Labrador Métis. http://www.labmetis.org/.
Our biggest and closest trading markets are Quebec, France, Saint Pierre Miqulon and Spain. All of which are French speaking. Ok Spain is Spanish it’s not far of French no different that Quebecois and French probably closer and would be better understood.
It’s about time NL got real and looked at the economic side of things. And the economics are obvious geographically speaking.
Not to mention getting back our taxes from Ottawa in the form of funding to support bilingual business practices. How hard is it to put Ch in front of Water Street and St Behind it? Ch Water St See that wasn’t so hard.
Talk about your make work projects. Look at the benefits of promoting NL as a bilingual destination. Trilingual if you want to recognize Newfanese as another distinct language bare minimum dialect. I bet there are lots of mainlanders who can’t understand a word said by some NL'eans who would agree ?
