When is a monopoly not a game?

I remember when the US regulators ruled that Intel and Microsoft weren't allowed to own and control the entire computer industry?


We have the Oil producers who are the every same people who refine their own oil and sell it.

So what we have now is the price of the oil coming out of the ground is down but the price of the refined oil by the very same companies is up?

So why isn't this relationship treated the same as the one involving two giant computer companies?

Like shouldn't the two be tied together a little more closely? Seeing as diesel gas and other distillates aren't made from turnips but rather crude oil? So why the difference.

These companies are winning coming and going whether it is on the coming side or the going side their profits have yet to fall?
