The interior of the Northern Peninsula is a broad expanse of ponds, mountains and wind-swept barrens.
It’s rugged, scenic and beautiful, yet few know of its special qualities because it’s relatively inaccessible.
A group is making strides in a bid to change that.
Without much fanfare, the provincial chapter of the International Appalachian Trail (IAT) has been diligently planning the development of a trail network in the southern section of the peninsula.
